Alexis Fischer

Alexis (Lexi) Fischer holds a Master of Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New College of Florida, where her thesis research focused on the psychosocial experience of individuals with invisible physical illnesses. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through Evergreen Certifications and has additional training in Trauma & Resilience from Florida State University. Over the past seven years, she has worked in various social work settings, providing compassionate and client-centered care.

Lexi specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, utilizing both cognitive (top-down) and somatic (bottom-up) healing approaches. Her therapeutic style addresses clients’ individual needs, incorporating techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), emotional freedom technique (EFT), attachment theory, family systems theory, and mindfulness. She has experience working with children using play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), sandtray therapy, and Theraplay techniques. Additionally, she has worked with juvenile and adult clients in the criminal justice system, helping clients identify trauma, substance use, and mental health factors underlying criminal behavior while advocating for restorative rehabilitation.
